About

Book 1 - OUT OF MY MIND SUCCESS

Out of My Mind Success is not a traditional audio textbook. It is a studio-ready field manual designed to bridge the gap between classroom instruction and real-world production environments.

Written by Professor Robert “BDub” Wright, this 47-chapter guide integrates technical foundations, studio systems, production strategies, team dynamics, professional etiquette, business literacy, AI integration, and career positioning into one cohesive, modular system.

Unlike theory-heavy texts, this book functions as a working companion:

  • Signal flow breakdowns with visual analogies
  • Gain staging frameworks and metering translation
  • Genre-specific production checklists
  • Real studio session planning tools
  • Conflict resolution strategies for creative teams
  • Budget templates and freelance contracts
  • AI-enhanced learning labs
  • Release calendars and EPK checklists
  • Scenario-based troubleshooting challenges

Each chapter ends with practical recaps and cross-referenced tools, reinforcing skill acquisition through repetition and application.

This book does not simply explain audio production — it trains students to think like engineers, communicate like professionals, and adapt like producers.

It is part reference guide, part mentor playbook, and part professional operating system.

Designed to live beside your laptop — not sit on a shelf.

About BDub Music

Robert BDub” Wright is a university professor, music producer, composer, and audio engineer with decades of experience in recording, production, live sound, and music education. Holding a Master’s degree in Audio Production and a background in composition with an emphasis in electronic music, Wright has worked across multiple facets of the music industry — from studio engineering and Front of House mixing to curriculum development and artist mentorship.

As an educator, he focuses on bridging the gap between classroom instruction and professional practice. His work unites musical artistry, technical mastery, production psychology, business literacy, and AI-era adaptation into a cohesive training framework that prepares students to transform talent into disciplined, real-world creative success.

Wright is the creator of Out of My Mind Success, a studio-ready playbook for developing technical skill, disciplined work habits, and professional readiness in audio and music production students. He is also the architect of the Audio Instinct Lab (AIL™) and the Buttah Pass™ AI production framework, both designed to cultivate interpretive authorship and decision-making in emerging producers.

Beyond the classroom, Wright continues to write, produce, and release original music through his multi-volume concept project A Balladeer Muses, exploring narrative songwriting and production as artistic inquiry.

His mission is simple: train students not just to understand audio — but to think, adapt, and perform like professionals.

Inside the System of Out Of My Mind Success

Out of My Mind Success is built as a professional operating system for creative careers — not just a collection of chapters.

The book integrates five core pillars:

  1. Technical Foundation
Signal flow, gain staging, studio workflow, session preparation, and essential engineering habits that form the backbone of professional competence.
  2. Professional Standards
Communication, reliability, etiquette, leadership under pressure, and the behavioral traits that determine whether you get called back.
  3. Creative Collaboration
Personality awareness, conflict navigation, session psychology, and the human dynamics that shape successful creative environments.
  4. Business Literacy
Contracts, royalties, intellectual property, licensing, and financial awareness — so your creativity is protected and sustainable.
  5. AI-Era Adaptability
Guided integration of AI tools and emerging technologies while maintaining authorship, judgment, and professional identity.

Together, these elements form a cohesive framework designed to help students move from talent to discipline — and from potential to performance.
